The Dyson Airwrap Styler Origin has a RRP of £374.99. This Airwrap is a bit cheaper in the UK and includes six attachments and two accessories such as three different styling brushes, two barrel sizes, a pre-styling dryer, a cleaning brush, a storage case, and a non-slip mat.

Which Airwrap model should I buy?

The two may not seem all that different on the surface, but one will almost certainly work better for your hair type than the other. The Origin will work best for naturally straighter hair or for those who want to create curl and bounce, as it is more limited in the attachments it offers and is geared mainly towards drying and curling.

If you have naturally curly, frizzy, or hard-to-manage hair, you will probably want to use the smoothing attachments that come with the Complete. We have used these brush attachments to take our hair from wet to straight after washing, and it saves a lot of time by killing two birds with one stone.

You can buy some of the attachments separately, and Dyson has recently released a diffuser and a bigger round brush to make the tool even more versatile. However, at £30 a pop, you may end up saving more money by opting for the Complete over the Origin by the time you've bought a couple of extra attachments.

Is the Dyson Airwrap worth it?

So, is this cult-favourite hair tool actually worth the investment? Woman&home staffers Millie Fender and Amelia Yeomans have two different hair types and use the Airwrap regularly. They both share how the Dyson Airwrap transforms their hair from frizzy and curly to smooth, voluminous, and bouncy.

"I've got the most unruly, frizzy hair, and I have absolutely no problems when it comes to holding a curl," Millie says. "When I first bought the Airwrap, I thought I'd use the barrel rollers most, but I've actually become a lot more dependent on the volumising brush to get a blowout effect that stays smooth for days. My boyfriend also uses the smoothing brush every morning in place of a hairdryer, so it's definitely an investment that's paid off over the past year."

Amelia says she loves how gentle the Airwrap is on her bleached hair. "I can get a gorgeous smooth blow dry with my Airwrap, and I know that it isn't hurting the health of my hair, which is a huge plus for me," she says. "I also love that it takes my wavy hair from wet to straight with several different attachments depending on the style I'm after, which saves me a lot of time."

But if your hair is on the thicker and drier side, Amelia says the Dyson may not be heavy-duty enough for more intricate styles. "I would say that due to the condition of my hair, it requires quite a high heat to hold styles like curls and beachy waves," Yeomans says. "The Airwrap doesn't quite get hot enough to keep curls intact all day, so other curling tools that can get to 200 degrees C+ tend to work better for me. I usually use the Airwrap curl tools when I want a looser wave to my hair - it does that perfectly for me."
